This has been my long awaited project bike that is finally on the road. Its a Masi Nuova Strada, late 80s frame with reynolds 653 steel and columbus drops. A lot of my friends said to me that this bike deserves to be a geared bike because of all the nice details it has. Sorry guys, but it's fixed. It's my first fixed gear and like a lot of people, I wanted to have something I respected and wanted to ride every day to work. Also like most people , I did not want to spend a lot of money. It still was a llittle bit of an invesment, but well worth the time and wait for all of the parts. I found this Beautiful Masi frame at the local co op bike shop called BICAS in Tucson, AZ for $25, which was pure luuck that no one else found it first. I remembber the exact moment it floated in to my line of sight. I only knew the name Masi because my mother had a newer model she had just sold. The moment I got it, I was instantly offered bkes, money and such for the frame. I was tempted, but I liked it way too much.
Specifics? shimano 600, surley, somax, are the main components. Harlequin Wrap on handlebars, (Very Hard with Benotto tape, I do not reccomend it if you want quick results. It doesn't have any adhesive on the back) Gear Ratio :54 in the front and 21 in the back. It took some getting used to, but I like how it hauls ass, yet its not too hard to start off . If you have any suggestions, please, please let me know, I am learning new stuff every day about fixed gears.
