18,758 • This is a 2007 (I believe, due to the bottle bosses, etc) Soma Rush I was fortunate enough to purchase from a local cyclist who had raced her briefly at the track and also doubled as an occasional commuter. Fortunately, it came powder coated in a beautiful candy/British racing green. The bike came with a matching set of mavic ellipse track wheels. Only use a mavic lock ring despite what people say on the forums! I switched the front wheel to a bombproof Aerospoke (style points plus machining). Gatorskins a must for Boston. Has a Sugino 75 crank and matching bottom bracket and an origin 8 (campy copy) ring. I have a miche cog carrier system which allows for simple switching of cogs… but must be miche. I am running an 18 out back, 44 up front… perfect for Boston though I have a sugino 75 49T for when I am feeling more adventurous. Has a Nitto riser on an ITM stem, Chris King headset, Champion grips, MKS pedals with MKS clips and Christophe straps. I was fortunate enough to have purchased the saddle (NOS Sella Italia Turbo) as a throw in from a vintage road bike i purchased and it came in the original box! Thomson Elite seat post, Cane Creek cyclocross lever and a Shimano Dura Ace brake. Also has an NJS chain and Kashimax top tube protector.
I truly love this machine, as I put it together while I was recovering from cancer treatment. I would even bike to chemo, though riding back was not as fun! I am healthy now and I believe that this bike was the light at the end of the tunnel. Also thanks to you Dennis as I loved to look at bikes while I was being treated.. made my days a little more pleasant! This bike is a beast and rides silently. Thanks to the late Sheldon Brown for all his knowledge! Say hi if you see this thing riding through Boston!
