19,218 •  the color of Lake Michigan, built in Wisconsin, this one’s been with me about seven years now, rolling the streets of the Twin Cities, Chicago, Milwaukee and now Paris.

born a 25.5in / ~64cm February 1976 Trek TX200 (according to what I can make out from the bottom bracket-stamped serial number), it’s constantly evolving but for now at least it wears the following:

Velocity Deep V 32h 700’s laced to Milwaukee Bicycle Company hubs rolling Schwalbe Marathon (once) reflective 28c’s and shameless super sexy black plastic fenders (for love in all four seasons)

Nitto cockpit complete with Technomic extra-long stem and 420mm RB-021 bullhorns, Tektro lever and brake (which from experience and for the sake of bike and body it will always have as long as it’s with me – I don’t trust cars or myself enough to ride brakeless)

Sugino 75 drivetrain with 46t chainring and Surly 17t cog, 1/8 SRAM chain, Surly Hurdy Gurdy chain tensioner and Fyxation platform pedals with (priceless) velcro straps.

and as for jewelry, a meterlong Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit chain for daily, waist-worn use, a Kryptonite Evolution Mini U-lock for bonus overnight security, and Hexlox inserts to keep the seatpost, stem and front wheel close.

it’s been more than a decade since I’ve been a regular gawker on FGG; thanks for sharing all y’all’s bikes, thanks for looking at this one! holler if you see us!
